Sparkling glitterballs and cheesy 80’s pop this could have been an 18th birthday party above a pub in Cleethorpes. But no it saw the return of Wakefields favourites to Yorkshire. Now being far to big to play their home town they decamp to this appalling venue. Narrower than a goths view on clothing and longer than the queue for the bar it was never gonna be a classic gig.

However The Cribs did not fail to impress, leaving their drinking to post gig helps along with their expanding set list. Highlight of the night was Hey Scenesters a former NME single of the week. With drummer Gary sat on a rather high drum riser, the unveiling of a dark back drop and a heavy intro this song would not have disappointed the Download moshers.

A cracking set from the three brothers , at the end Ross had a quiet word with Ryan. Was it congratulations all round for playing to a sell out on their largest headline gig to date. No he probably said “the crowd did not want to see your stitches you posing ****.
