Hot on the heels of the news regarding the Classic Rock festival, the organisers of the UKs other newish rock and metal festival have announced the first wave of bands who will take to the stages in 2010. Headlining the event will be Iron Maiden, making their only festival appearance of the summer, and Rammstein. This will be Rammstein’s first ever UK festival appearance and they promise to bring over a full on stage show for the occasion. Should be interesting. The undercard is shaping up nicely as well, Alice Cooper (Headlining the Saturn stage), Motley Crue, Iggy and the Stooges, The Cult, Slayer and Anthrax will all be playing over the weekend. This year’s bash will again take place at Knebworth House (well I assume its in the grounds not in the actual house), Herts over the weekend of  30th July – 1st August. Tickets cost a reasonable £132.50, though its an additional £10 to park and £25 to camp. One highly commendable piece of news though, is that booking fees have been abolished for this Festival.

With the first shots being fired in the metal festival circuit already, we await the announcement of this year’s Download Festival bill, so far its been quiet, though keep checking out the news and features pages for the best in festival rumours, coming soon.
