After a long period of inactivity the announcements for this years’ Download festival are now being released. Hot on the heels of the announcement that AC/DC will be returning to Castle Donington for the first time since 1991 to headline the Friday, the rest of the headline acts have been confirmed. Rage against the Machine will capitalise on their anti X Factor popularity by making a headline appearance and Aerosmith, apparently with Steven Tyler will tread the boards on the Sunday, their first appearance at Donington since the mid 90s. A strong looking supporting cast is taking shape including Them Crooked Vultures, Wolfmother, Bullet For My Valentine, Motorhead and Deftones. More acts will be announced at half past midnight tomorrow (16th Feb) and we will be up late to bring you the news first – That’s dedication for you.
And we can now confirm Stone Sour, Lamb of God and the fantastic Billy Idol have all been added to the festival
