It was a welcome return to my fave Manchester venue for what was hoped, a rocking evening of entertainment. As you can probably guess the evening didn't fail to disappoint! Our first words upon entering this fine establishment and locating the Red Stripe bar was "Lets get beered up"! And so, we proceeded to carry out our intention.

Support band 1 was missed as we had to pick up our tickets from some dodgy looking student hall of residence with bars on the windows. Support band 2 - The Longcut were a good rock band as long as the lead singer was drumming and not singing!! His voice left a lot to be desired.

The chanting started not long after The Longcut fled the stage. "Nine Black Alps, Nine Black, Alps, Nine Black Alps"....the mancunian audience were desperately awaiting their local rock heroes. NBA came on stage to a rapturous applause and hit us with 75 minutes of blissful rock tunes. Even my friends Dad was getting down with the kids by the final tune. Hit after hit came from the album and the Manc crowd loved every minute of it.

5 cans of Red Stripe later and with Ironside ringing my ears my only question was "Where is Ivan?" His stage diving performance was nowhere to be seen.......
